Carbon Reduction Plan including Emissions Reports
Maintaining an accurate and current carbon reduction plan necessitates on-going monitoring of the Delta Surgical carbon footprint, considering the entire value chain (including materials, manufacturing, transportation and distribution).
Click on the ‘Carbon Footprint Anaysis 2024’ PDF listed below for details.
Based on this analysis, we have ambitious but achievable targets and goals for reducing carbon emissions. This includes a 90% reduction in total market-based emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) by 2050 while also neutralising any residual emissions using verified carbon offsets.

Reducing Emissions
One of the biggest sources of carbon emissions for Delta Surgical is energy consumption. In the PDF document ‘Carbon Footprint Analysis 2024’ we have looked to identify our current level of emissions and where they come from.
This provides opportunities to reduce energy consumption in the company's operations, such as investing in energy-efficient equipment, optimising building energy management systems (ISO 14001), encouraging staff to adopt energy-saving practices and investing in energy efficient EV based transportation.
Optimise transportation
Transportation is common source of carbon emissions. We have identified opportunities to optimise transportation by increasing the number of EV / Hybrid vehicles, optimising sustainable product distribution solutions and encouraging staff to participate in the 'Cycle to Work' salary sacrifice scheme. We are also considering driver efficiency training for reduced fuel / vehicle wear and tear.
Reduce waste
Identify opportunities to reduce waste throughout Delta Surgical's value chain, such as implementing a waste reduction program, increasing the use of recycled materials / packaging and reducing the overall volume of packaging.
Engage staff and stakeholders
Engage staff and stakeholders in the carbon reduction plan by creating a 'Green Team' to lead initiatives. This to include additional training, communicating progress and encouraging participation in sustainability initiatives.
Monitor and report progress
Monitor progress towards carbon reduction targets and report on progress regularly. This will help to identify areas where further improvements can be made and demonstrate Delta Surgical's commitment to sustainability to customers and stakeholders.
